Webinar 5 - Detailed development plans of two selected CCUS Value Chains for the Baltic and Mediterranean Sea Regions

Through rigorous technical mapping and value chain analyses performed in the previous steps of the CCUS ZEN project, two promising CCUS value chains have been identified, each tailored to the unique characteristics of the Baltic Sea and Mediterranean Sea regions. 

Detailed development plans have been completed and propose an initial definition of a pathway for the deployment of a Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage networks in these two regions. It also lays out technical, economic, and strategic frameworks to guide the establishment of viable CCUS value chains, aimed at supporting the decarbonisation efforts in Europe. 

This webinar will present the main outcomes of the development plans including technico-economic assessments, project risk evaluations that address both technical and non-technical potential impacts. Finally, it will present key business models’ considerations required for the successful deployment of CCUS value chains.

Leandro-Henrique Sousa, Ramboll

Leandro-Henrique Sousa is a senior consultant in the Energy Transition division of Ramboll, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. His expertise consists of technical consultancy in CCUS and hydrogen concept and feasibility projects development, primarily in the transportation section of the respective value chains. Leandro has driven cost estimation and economic viability scopes, influencing major CCUS infrastructure projects across Europe. He leads the development of the Baltic value chain under the scope of the CCUS ZEN project and the selection of projects for EU PCI.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Audrey Lopez, Genesis Energies

Audrey Lopez is a Senior Study Manager at Genesis Energies (consulting company focused on providing high-value advisory services for the energy industry), based in Paris, France. With extensive expertise across the energy industry—including upstream, downstream, and energy transition sectors—Audrey has established herself as a leader in innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
She has led numerous early-phase studies, helping clients evaluate critical steps in the Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) value chain. Her strategic insights and technical understanding have positioned her as a key contributor to advancing decarbonization efforts within Genesis Energies.
As part of the CCUS ZEN project, Audrey leads Work Package 4 (WP4), focusing on developing detailed plans to establish CCUS value chains in the Baltic and Mediterranean regions.
