The Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) was founded in 1919 and is the oldest Polish-wide scientific institution. In addition to carrying out research in all fields of modern geology and studying the country’s geological structure, the Institute was entrusted with the tasks of the Polish Geological Survey and the Polish Hydrogeological Survey. The PGI-NRI is responsible for the country’s security in supply of mineral resources, groundwater management, monitoring of the geological environment and warning against natural hazards and risks. The PGI-NRI belongs to the association of European geological surveys – EuroGeoSurvey (EGS).
As part of CCUS ZEN project, PGI-NRI is leading a task in WP3 (Technical modelling of the selected value chains) and contributing to the delivery of WP1, WP2, WP4 and WP5.
